Starting playing with 445nm diodes and pushed them to the fail limits or reduced output and found a happy current level with long duty cycles as long as you keep the diodes cool. 1400ma drive for me works well, 1500ma those puppies really start to heat and 1800ma 2 mins before they loss power.

Soooooooooooo wanted some power when need to burn 18 CD cases and then when mellow maybe 10 CD cases at a lower power for longer run times and not to worry about killing a diode. Ohhhhh what is a person to do with these kinds of decisions…. “I know, will build a dual 445nm hand help puppy with Lithium Phosphate drives in a 4 x 5 inch box……” One Diode is set to 1400ma drive and will last forever and one set at 1600ma drive and with low duty cycles should burn 20 CD cases!

Was running Aixiz 12x30mm lens but found some 405-G-2 that pump 30% more power!

BTW this 445nm diode is vicious, will burn your retina faster than the clock rate of Sandy Bridge and it will be too late ur blind! Always wear Laser goggles rated at the freq. of the laser to ensure safe burning fun!
